Kore wa Zombie Desu Ka


Otherwise known as Korean Zombie Desk Car?, or Is This a Zombie? but anyway.

So I just finished watching this anime which was airing this winter season, and it's the first thing I've finished of the season so I figured I'd do a quick blog post about it.



It's rather absurd and stupid.
The main character starts out as a zombie who can't die no matter what happens to him, we are shown this through the opening scene where he saves a cat from being hit by a truck, and himself goes flying.

But after the fact that he is a zombie he promptly meets a Masou Shoujo - A weapon armed magical girl, wielding a chainsaw.

Stuff happens and now our main character is a cross dressing zombie chainsaw wielding magical girl.

It rapidly becomes a harem.
Soon enough our main character is surrounded by girls who one by one wind up living in his house.
A Necromancer
A Masou Shoujo
A Vampire Ninja

There are also a few more female characters who appear and add to this harem.

It's funny.
It's obvious that this anime is a comedy and does so through the absurd and stupid factors that it has. Stupid stuff keeps happening and it keeps you laughing. There is a pretty decent plot line but it is not important if you just watch this for the occasional giggle.

Fight scenes.
They're quite comical and pretty awesome at the same time. Because our main character is a zombie he takes an awful lot of damage and always comes back. His main power is to exceed the limits of the human body (damaging himself, but it's k coz he's a zombie) and having some extreme strength or speed. Oh yeah, he also cuts people with his pink chainsaw (vagina + chainsaw 0_0 at one stage).

It's kinda heart touching.
I think this is probably just due to my rather emotional nature when it comes to watching anime, I blame my session of watching a load of soppy romantic anime for this. However, this anime was not soppy at all yet still managed to make me smile a few times, some nice moments there.

To sum it up.
Decent anime that I think you should check out if you don't mind things getting a bit excessive and stupid.
It's a good watch and at only 12 episodes it's a quick and easy thing to watch. Just don't go into it looking for a serious anime.

    @Parallel, I suppose you don't like anime with very little/bad plot. Each to their own but I think if you laid back and enjoyed it non-critically, you may enjoy Zombie, and HotD as well.
