Aired Winter 2010
13 regular length episodes
Genre: Supernatural action shounen.
Now the information is over with, here is my "review" of this anime.
This anime starts out like a lot of other anime like it, random encounter with "supernatural" being, in fact this encounter includes her falling on top of the MC, another cliche...
After their encounter some action dreamy stuff happens and the dream girl who doesn't know why she's in the real world, Merry, saves our MC Fujiwara Yumeji.
The anime continues with Yumeji wanting to help Merry get back to the dream world and generic anime stuff happens. (See image, regular old walk-into-girls-bathing scene.)
There's some more fighting and it introduces more characters and even includes some plot, oh right, there was a plot after all.
The Plot (Some spoilers)
So the plot behind this anime is that "people" from the dream world have been traveling to the real world and taking humans as vessels by force or by choice. These dream people are called muma and if they die, their vessels dreams get destroyed, thus becoming a goalless person (Can't be too bad). So Merry wants to go back to the dream world but she can't because stuff (one of the many plot holes). Thus Yumeji decides to help them and fighting and stuff etc. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, Yumeji has to power to look through his fingers in a loop and see random floating coloured orbs inside people, useful... However this does become useful as vessels will be detectable to him.
The "Ending" (Spoilers)
So, at the end of episode 13, the anime ends. Strictly this is an ending but it was honestly horrible. So yeah okay, they defeated the big bad muma and everything was happyish. I was really hoping for an ending that actually solved some problems and actually finished the anime, but I suppose they left it open for a sequel, and regardless of my negative sounding review, I enjoyed watching this and would easily watch a second season.
You may now be thinking after reading this review that this anime was actually bad and I disliked it, however that is incorrect. This review is harsh and treats the anime as though there will be no second season. The only time I found this anime stupid was at the very end (I think this greatly influenced this review) and all throughout it was otherwise very enjoyable.
The characters were great, the plot was interesting, the day to day stuff was nice, the pacing was eh, I didn't mind it. Sure it was rather generic but it was also unique at the same time, in a way I can't exactly explain though.
(Would be better if not for that ending)
So check it out and enjoy watching it, but be prepared for a let down at the ending. I'll be waiting for news on a second season.
